generation Children haven’t changed, but the way SOME parents deal with them has. As a society people are less willing to take responsibility for many things, and for some people this includes their own children. From my perspective as a teacher, I think the the things kids get up to hasn’t changed since I was a kid. What has changed is the numI don’t think children are any worse or better than one or two generations ago - I think that society and its demands on families has changed which in turn puts children in very different situations to 40+ years ago.

Changes in housing, transport, working practices, childcare, the law, the nuclear and extended family etc have all changed how children are raised and disciplined. I see teenagers on a daily basis and think that they are no different than how my 67 year old father describes himself over 50 years ago.

I think it is more that the pressures on the parents have changed rather than the behaviour of their children.

ber of children who aren’t scared of retribution.
