No doubt that learning languages takes up a lot of time. That is why some people think that it would be better to have only one language on our planet. But will it be really beneficial for mankind? In my opinion, the reduction of the number of languages is a disaster because it will totally destroy our great cultural heritage. With each loss of a language comes a loss of a culture, a loss of a way of life that deserves to be protected and treated as valuable.

Guten Tag! Heute möchte ich über das Thema “Urlaub am Meer” sprechen. Millionen Menschen in der ganzen Welt reisen gern. Ihre Reisen unternehmen sie gewönlich im Urlaub oder in der Ferien. Man kann aus Meer, in die Berge, in die berühmten Hauptstädte oder einfach aufs Land fahren. Man kann durch Reisen die Welt besser kennenlernen : neuen Menschem begegnen, sich mit der Geschichte und Kultur anderer Länder bekannt machen, neue Landschaften besichtigen.

Something about the words “based on a true sto¬ry” flashing across the screen has the ability to capture a viewer’s attention unlike anything else. History is full of noteworthy people and events that are just ripe for the screenwriter’s picking and often result in hugely successful movies. However, try as they might, filmmakers who attempt to portray anything about the past very seldom satisfy their harshest critics. One could theorize that there is a purpose to taking creative license with history.

What is air pollution? ‘I’ll go out for a breath of fresh air’ is an often-heard phrase. But how many of us realize that this has become irrelevant in today’s world, because the quality of air in our cities is anything but fresh. Air pollution is a serious problem in our society these days. We come across it indoors, when people have been smoking, and outdoors, where motor vehicle exhaust pollutes the air.

My Gran passed away after battling cancer for almost a year in 2000 and although I was only seven then, looking back, I didn’t get a chance to say the things that needed to be said. Clichéd yeah, If I had the chance I would have said all of it. But when your seven years old, death doesn’t exist and goodbyes are never forever. There’s a certain innocence that comes with being a kid, a naivety that I want back.
Smoking
Smoking has become very common and fashionable, especially among young boys. This habit usually begins at school when boys try to experiment with every new thing that they can lay their hands on. Despite the warnings given by doctors about the ill-effects of smoking, people continue to smoke. Smokers are addicted to it, and even if they want to, they cannot refrain from picking up a cigar or cigarette and puffing away.
Does modern technology make life more convenient, or was life better when technology was simpler?
Technology is making communication easier in today’s world, but at the expense of personal contact as many people choose to work at home in front of a computer screen. What dangers are there for a society which depends on computer screens rather than face-to-face contact for its main means of communication? Will the Internet bring people of the world closer together? The first car appeared on British roads in 1888. By the year 2000 there may be as many as 29 million vehicles on British roads.

I know that we live in a high-tech society, that everything revolves around computers, mobile phones and the Internet, but I still think that books have a very important role in our formation as adults, as they educate us, develop our imagination and improve our vocabulary and many other features. Apparently that is exactly what some officials thought when they started a unique campaign of attracting people to the public library.
A letter
It feels like such a long time since the last time I saw you. You won’t believe what happened to me… Last week I’ve got high temperature (about 38,5C), fever and a sore throat. I didn’t know what was happening to me so I went to a doctor. He examined me and said that I probably had a flu. He explained to me that it is usually caused by a virus and I need to rest for a few days.
