Franz Kafka "Proces" - recenzja książki
“The Trial” by Franz Kafka is a superb, touching parabolic novel. The story takes place in the city whose name is not known. Probably it is Prague. The main character is Joseph K. who is a single man working in the bank. At the beginning of this book two men are coming to Joseph’s house and they are accusing him of commiting a crime. However, Josephthinks he hasn’t done anything wrong.

The atmosphere of the book is really mysterious and sometimes terrifying. Motives of gates, doors, stairs and halls often appear there just like in nightmares.
Some time later David Hugh Jones directed a film with the same title on the basis of this novel. The role of Joseph K. is p,ayed by Kyle MacLochan.
It is one of the best dramatised books because the story in this movie is exactly as the reader of ‘Trial’ by Kafka could imagine it. The city filled with sadness, bleak places, foggy and rainy weather - these all make this film as fantastic as the book.
I strongly recommend both the novel and the movie. Although I always think a book is better than a film, I have a different opinion in this case. I’ve never seen such well directed story on the basis of a book.
