Recently, I watched the film “Escape from Sobibor”, directed by Jack Gold. The

film is describing the one particular moment from the II War World. In the picture

the human solidarity is challenged and the determination of victims was the only

guarantees in order to survive today and the next day. This determination is

shown by the prisoners who succeeded the one and only successful uprising in

their concentration camp. The uprising took place in October 14, 1943 and lasted

only a few hours. The film describes times when death was like every day bread,

human life was not any value.

I like this movie because it shows that a man can sustain his humanity, and

despite dehumanization people can love and be loved. I enjoy this movie

because it shows also hate and its results. And above all, the movie is a huge

lesson about the history and its theme is similar with some other film such

as “Devil’s Arithmetic” directed by Donna Deitch.

I would like to finish my thoughts about “Escape from Sobibor ”in the following:

although the whole plot is not bad this film definitely is not for impatient person,

is not action movie type, because it is simply sometimes boring and sometimes

predictable. This film is a great cinema. And you? What do you think about
