Advantages and disadvantages of globalisation

Advantages and Disadvantages of Globalisation Globalisation is very broad and complex process that affects all spheres of our lives. This means creating a new type of relationship between businesses, countries and societies. This is a process in which events, decisions and actions occurring in one part of the world have significant consequences for individual people and communities even in remote parts of the globe. It has its supporters and opponents. The major advantage is that, thanks to globalization information and communications revolution has evolved.

Flow of information through the Net, mobile phones and mass media became much easier and faster. Consequently people from countries less developed do not have to be backwards – they have possibility to draw from the achievements of civilization and new inventions. Secondly, processes triggered by globalization contributed to the spread of democracy. The tourism has developed- it has become easier and not so expensive. We have possibility to broaden our knowledge and avail of cultural heritage of other nations. Integration of people from various cultures has become commonplace - we become more tolerant. Nevertheless, some people claim that this process is not so positive. Firstly, countries which are linked economically are exposed to that if in one of the countries crisis breaks out, this will entail the crisis on a global scale. Furthermore, it is often alleged that permeation of different cultures and nationalities leads to loss of national identity and unification of all nations. To conclude- world is heading in direction of equalization on many fields, so some changes are inevitable. From my perspective globalization is a process that provides many opportunities. To my mind we should adapt the gains of globalization but also cultivate our traditions and culture to remain our national affiliation.
