Computer games are undoubtedly part of every teenager’s life. Not only young people, but adults enjoy them too. Regardless of gender, age and other things that usually divide people, everyone plays computer games. Not every single of them has to be well-made and expensive, some of them are very simple and some people don’t even consider them computer games since they’re not really demanding for their device. However, everyone is playing computer games, whether it’s a boring card game in the office or epic RPG game at home. Computer games unite people by making them all players, but they divide them by opinions on playing. Some people say that computer games are waste of time while the other think that they can be useful and helpful. Who’s right? I’m with the second group. I think that games actually help developing imagination and creativity. Many games require quick thinking, making decisions and can even teach a group work when you play in teams or need to form a party. Depending on the genre, some games have an actual historical context which is more interesting than any history class in school. Sometimes things seen in games can make you interested in something, you start investigating on the matter and this way you’re learning something new on your own. For some teachers it’s impossible to force a student to study while games can make them do it easily. If you want to win a game, you have to think and plan your actions, if your idea won’t be good enough, you’ll lose and you’ll look for another way to suceed. Playing games isn’t such a mindless activity people make it out to be, that’s why I’m all for computer games.
