The action takes place in a world that was rebuilt after the Great War. People live in a world where is no pain, war and disease. They created a world devoid of colors and feelings. The same clothes, the same status, lack of family ties. Unexpectedly the council selects the next memory giver, the person who remembers the world before the Great War, and that person is Jonas. Will he cope? The older part of the actors, as Bridges and Meryl Streep coped well with their role. They fully handed over personalities of their characters, their feelings and values. The younger of the cast came out quite uninteresting with them. They lacked the charisma. Scenes where Jonas learns feelings and humanity are very well shown. They present a colorful and dynamic lives of people. It is a steppingstone from the rest of the movie, which is mostly black and white. The soundtrack is very well chosen. Music joins the action and gives it dynamism, strengthens emotions during the movie. Marco Beltrami was responsible for the music, he also composed the soundtrack to Resident Evil and Hellboy. “The Giver” is not perfect image and disappears in comparison with the competition, like “Incompatible”. From the perspective of time, however, the vision of an “ideal world” gives a lot to think. This production will reach particularly for sensitive people and to the young audience, through the participation of people like Taylor Swift.
