Should student’s textbooks be replaced by electronic devices?

Technology is something that everyone knows. Nowadays people do not move without their smartphones. Almost every student has got a laptop, and children for their first birthday get tablets instead of toys. Technology is present all the time in our homes, work, sometimes even in schools. Traditional textbooks are replaced by electronic devices and I think it is not good idea. Firstly, looking all day on an electronic device is not good for students’ health.

It is proven that an electronic screen causes damage to eyes and looking at it for eight hours is, for sure, not positive. What is more, tablets emit radiation, which can result in some serious diseases such as Parkinson, autism, childhood obesity, cardiac stress and even cancer. As we can see electronic devices are not healthy, especially for small children. Secondly, tablets are fragile, which means that they can easily crash. When every book, textbook and materials are stored in an electronic device it is possible that we can lose it. Using a textbook instead of tablet is safer, because it is not easily crushable and students can be sure that they will always be prepared for their lessons. On the other hand, on a tablet students can store all the necessary materials and textbooks. They do not have to carry heavy backpacks everyday. Tablet is small and lightweight and can be packed even to a pocket. However it is still not good idea because it stores not only materials needed in school but also games, social media applications and other things which can easily distract students during the lesson. In conclusion, I must say that electronic devices are both good and bad for students but in my opinion textbooks should not be replaced by them. School was always associated with books and I think that it should stay like that.
