When he was a little boy, the pig hurt his face, and he wants to hide his face from others. Probably he feels ashamed, because he looks different, but also he tries to hide himself, because he is not accepted by society. When he puts the mask, he feels like a superhero, he can do whatever he wants, and there are no limits for him. He has more power, and he feels invisible. The mask for him is like an escape from a real world. We can read that, the first thing he does in the morning is pulling the mask. We can guess that he does not accept himself. He acts all the time, because he never show his real face. The mask gives him the super power. With no mask, he becomes nobody. In the story we can see many very symbolic moments. The mask can change everything in people life. After pulling the mask, people become someone else. They change their behaviors. They also have more possibilities. As we can read, the main character wears the mask all the time, because for him, this is the only way to accept himself. By pulling the mask, he achieve power and courage. The mask change us and our character, but we have to ask the question: is it still us?
