Final Countdown

Two years ago our family was preparing a surprise party for my father’s fifty birthday. He was expected to arrive at designated place on 7pm on Saturday. Earlier that day me and my siblings came to restaurant to decorate and prepare big hall for all our guests. Me and my sister were hanging some balloons and my brother took care of sound. We put the tablecloths just before catering arrived. Everything seemed to be perfect.

And then we got some bad news. My mother called us from confectionery and said that birthday cake isn’t ready! How was that possible? We started to panic, because it was 6pm and we had only one hour to solve the problem. First guests started to come along with gifts. After quarter our mother called us once again and told us that father is going to come earlier. We were calling to other confectionery if they had some spare chocolate cake but it was already closed. We gave up. There was nothing more we could do. Dad was coming in twenty minutes and all guests were at the place. And then we received a phonecall. Finally some good news! Our mother mistaken the confectionery and now she is driving to the restaurant with cake. She arrived just on time, five minutes before our father. Party was great, everything went very well and we laugh about this cake madness on every family meeting!
