In the essay, we are inviting you to tell us what exactly makes a person a responsible dog owner. Between now and May 1st, 2013, we’re asking you to submit a less than 400-word essay on this topic. One way to make an essay stand out is to at least mention that a responsible dog owner picks up his dog’s poop and disposes of it properly.

After the May 1st entry deadline passes, the judges will make sure that each entry meets the contest’s eligibility requirements – specifically, and that each entry is submitted on behalf of the Owner and Pet(s) living in the Champaign/Urbana and surrounding area that promotes the domestic welfare of dogs. Once eligibility has been determined, we’ll invite you, our FB followers to vote for the essays you think should win.

The winners will receive valuable prizes. The Grand Prize winner will receive a $200 credit to use towards our Doggie Daycare, or Boarding services. Second place will be a $100 credit towards Dog Grooming services. Third place will be a $50 credit to be used for any service offered at the CU Pampered Pet. Again, those articles selected by the judges should discuss responsible pet ownership, support pet owners, and envision how we can improve the lives of our dogs. The voting period will begin May 8th and end May 15th, with the winners to be announced sometime around May 29th, 2013.
