My family
Even though it’s easy to forget at times, but as Princess Diana once said “Family is the most important thing in the world”. Not everyone out there can imagine life without a family. For most of us our family is an integral part of our life. Not a single law in this world can defy this fact. My own family is one of those where all members look alike. It isn’t always easy to talk to our parents but it’s easy to talk about them.
My mom’s a school teacher of foreign language by profession and I follow in her footsteps. She prepares for school and she always talks about her pupils. Sometimes I get upset because she seems to think they’re better than me. She was born in a poor family but it didn’t stop her from displaying intelligence and ingenuity. My mom’s my best friend and she always gives me a hand. She’s honest, reliable, outgoing, helpful – she has a heart of gold. My mom is in her early 50s but she carries her age well. She is tall, medium build, thin-faced, brown-haired and green-eyed. She’s good-loking, smart and elegant lady, not always well-dressed, but I don’t think it is the outfit that make women attractive . I think personality matters more. My dad’s a mechanic, but actually he’s a real handyman (he manages to do everything about our house)! He works his fingers to the bone to keep our family. He is in his early 40s. He is 9 years younger than my mom but he loved her and married her. Dad is below average height, well-build and fit, brown-haired, round-faced and blue-eyed. He’s not an iron fist, he creates an impression of generous and kind personality. He tells jokes all the time and he is never serious. He thinks he has a good sense of humor but in fact his jokes aren’t always funny. He’s a kind of a romantic man as he often surprises my mom with a bunch of flowers or a bar of chocolate because she still has a twinkle in his eye. I’m not the only child in the family. I have got my younger brother Vlad. He’s a teenager. Vlad is a tall, thin, broad-shouldered boy with brown hair, blue eyes, big ears and turned-up nose. He reads books about superheroes like Superman, Flash and Iron Fist. He is not a superhero, but he hates injustice and he’d like to have some super powers. He’s gifted in languages and IT technologies. My brother and I look alike but our characters differ radically. I’m quick but he is slow. I’m energetic and sometimes even rude but he’s polite, tolerant and sensitive. I listen to rock and jazz music but he loves animals and listens to Bach and Beethoven. In spite of the fact that we are different we get along very well. We love each other very much and we respect and treasure our family relationships. As every family, we’ve got our own traditions. We spend most of our family holidays together. Usually we do not invite many guests, just a few true friends and arrange a picnic in the countryside with shish kebabs or fish-soup. Such moments mean much for us. We celebrate each other’s birthdays together and most of all we love Christmas. My mom and I cook delicious dishes for this fest but the most interesting part of it is decorating the Christmas tree and unboxing the gifts. My family is very important for me, I love dearly everybody in it. Only in the family I can find love, joy, support and approval. Praise the Lord that in any situation I could be protected by my dad, and use my mom as a shoulder to cry on. I think I’m obedient and respectful daughter and surely anough I’d like my own family in future to be just alike.
